Upwards

Looking up a very tall tree in the Japanese Gardens in Newstead Abbey gardens. Last time we visited, this tree was full of leaves, and now its just a lovely textured trunk and branches.

What a marvellous knobbly, gnarly texture, not to mention that mysterious hole filled in with what looks like cobwebs.

My favorite sort of perspective. That gnarly old tree really has character. Wonder how many years it has been alive?

My neck hurts from looking up! It’s great the way you’ve captured this and your comment that it is without its leaves, thus we can actually see the tree.
