Slow Your Shutter Speed

By slowing my shutter speed down to around a second, I got this image.

Its another shot of the gardens at Newstead Abbey.  A waterfall and stream link the big lake and the smaller lake. It is possible to go behind the waterfall into a dark brick structure. I’ve done that numerous times, taking photos of the waterfall looking out.

When we were there in Autumn, the reeds in this shot were tall enough to block the view of the base of the waterfall.

That one technical detail has rendered this into a magical image.

    That’s a great shot, Trace :)

You’ve gotten the shutter-speed just right to show the motion but to leave the wall behind the waterfall nice and clear, too.

Stunning! Like silk running over the hard bricks.
